Empowered Committee for Animal Health (ECAH Regulatory)
This Subcommittee has been constituted to streamline the process of regulatory approval for veterinary (livestock and poultry) products for an efficient, robust, and transparent mechanism that would help to create a global manufacturing hub as well as promote research and development especially focused on priority animal diseases.
The terms of reference of the Subcommittee are as follows:
- To examine the proposals received from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI), Research Institutes, and other Organizations related to veterinary drugs, veterinary vaccines/biologicals, etc., and provide technical comments/advice from the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD).
- To review technical matters related to drugs, veterinary vaccines/biologicals received from various organizations and provide comments/advice.
The subcommittee shall facilitate the participation of manufacturers to ensure the timely disposition of proposals, thereby ensuring transparency. Meetings will be held once a month on the second Tuesday, depending on the number of proposals and the availability of experts and stakeholders.
